What is a Belgian Shepherd Rehome?
A “Rehome” is in the care of their breeder or a foster home working with the breeder.
The breeders of these Belgians have chosen to take responsibility for the pre-
Often these dogs have been in stable, known environments but for many reasons (relocation, family circumstances, death, financial, etc) they could no longer be cared for by their owners. A Rehome can also be a “Retiree”. A Retiree typically has always been in the care of their breeder and often has been raised and trained for competition. For many reasons it was decided that this dog will no longer participate in the breeding program, competition or other activities. It is in the Belgian’s best interest to retire with a family where they can remain in the spotlight, just in a more leisurely fashion.
All details about a specific Belgian Rehome will be discussed with the potential family directly by the Breeder. It is advised that both parties ask a lot of questions. The breeder typically will charge a fee for either rehome or retiree. Keep in mind that an older dog isn’t necessarily a less expensive dog... On the contrary often these dogs have absorbed more resources in time, money, training, health screenings and possibly titles.
